iTunes Not Recognizing Shuffle

I have tried:

[list=1]
Resetting the ipod
uninstalling/reinstalling itunes
restarting my computer
uninstalling/reinstalling ipod updater software
[/list=1]

Nothing is working! iTunes refuses to recognize my shuffle. Also, it is not the USB port because my computer is recognizing the ipod when I plug it in.

Oh and I JUST downloaded the NEW iTunes version 6 or something.

What should I do?

UPDATE:

As a last resort, I had Apple send me a new iPod Shuffle since mine is still under warranty. They sent me the new one and VIOLA it works fine! So even tho it looked like a software issue, it wasn't.

That happen sometimes... If for some reason someone is experiencing the same thing on Windows... check that the "iTunes Helper" service is active and set to automatic in its startup mode...
