PEOPLE!! PLEASE HELP ME OUT.

I just recently purchased a 40gb Ipod and was concerned about the earphones. I'm pretty sure the stock earphones the ipod comes w/ is reasonable, but im looking for quality earphones made for snowboarding.
This is what im looking for.
Im looking for a pair of EARphones , (not headphones..too bulky) that have great quality sound. It has to have GREAT bass!!!!!! treble and mids have to be decent as well. A problem i had with my cd player was that everytime i went boarding and my friends try to talk to me, i couldn't hear a word they were saying and i would have to take out the earphone and put them back in with a huge glove on my hand. If anyone knows a GOOD pair of quality earphones and can help with the problem i have w/ outside hearing please help. May i remind you i need to hear whats going on around me and i need a good quality set. Not too sure if i can have best of both worlds. Please help. These are for snowboarding......

Indeed--- You may have a bit of trouble finding something good.

Any good earphones I know of that will stay in your ear while active (and that have good bass), also happen to be isolating. Hmm... ;)

Perhaps you should sacrifice a bit of quality while snowboarding, and get a set of those earbuds that wrap around your ear. (Sony, Bose (!?)). They won't move, and they don't isolate.

Ignore your friends. They can't possibly sound better than the iPod.

Seriously, that is a tough call. I agree that the kind that wrap around your ear are going to be the best as far as allowing you to hear/remove easily with gloves. But then they aren't the best quality. The bass is probably going to be bloated which you may like since you want bass. Sony will probably have a ton of models to choose from.

Hmmm, sounds like there's a market for EarMuff earphones - music and warmth!!!

..at this point I was going to attach a pic of me wearing the wife's furry earmuffs over my E2's, but seems she gave them away....

Anyway, I know you said EARphones but how about Bose QuietComfort 2's? They provide a reasonable sound quality, are light and comfortable, fairly slim and suppress some noise but not voices, so your mates screaming at you that there is an avalanche coming will not go unheard...;)

[Sony EX71 answer]OK, cheap(ish), good sound, comfortable to wear, come in crisp white, two lengths of cord (short+long), low profile - Sony EX71SL (http://www.audiocubes.com/product_info.php?cPath=22_30&products_id=387&PHPSESSID=fe4c828bcdeba87b3cf52b8752eb9cd4) - I have the EX70SL and think they are just fine. EX70 for snowboarding?

Try the Koss KSC-35 earclips. Cheap, non isolating, reasonably durable, stays on, sounds hella good for the money.

Ok are you guys reading what im writing?! I'm only interested in EARphones. That means no clip on's, no headphones, nothing but an earphone that will actually go inside your ear. Thanks for the suggestions but they were no help except for that sony mdrex71 guy...but does anyone know the difference between mdr-ex71sl and the mdr-ex70sl?

Bugs,
:D

Daniel,
You requirements are a bit complicated -

"but im looking for quality earphones made for snowboarding.
This is what im looking for."

Not sure if there are such a thing!

" A problem i had with my cd player was that everytime i went boarding and my friends try to talk to me, i couldn't hear a word they were saying and i would have to take out the earphone and put them back in with a huge glove on my hand. "

Think that would happen with most 'phones - and in-ear-phones will be even more awkward to put in and take out.

"If anyone knows a GOOD pair of quality earphones and can help with the problem i have w/ outside hearing please help. May i remind you i need to hear whats going on around me and i need a good quality set. Not too sure if i can have best of both worlds."

I don't think you are going to be able to have the best of both worlds to be honest - you trade one off against the other. I suggested the EX71's as I thought they may be more likely to stay in place as they sit in the ear, as opposed to 'on' the ear as most earbuds do.

The difference between the EX70 and 71 is the 71's replaced the 70's and it is the newer version.

Not what you are looking for I know but on last nights Gadgets and Stuff TV (in UK) show headphones were reviewed and for great bass and all round sound the Skullcandy Skull Crusher headphones got a good review.
See them here (http://www.buy.com/retail/product.asp?sku=90125959&loc=111&sp=1) - they beat the Bose Quietcomfort 2 and Sennheiser HD280 into 2nd and 3rd places respectively.

I know that you specifically wanted earphones, but my friend has this hat snowboarding hat with the earphone IN them, i tried it on and they sound alright. At least this way, you can hear your friends and listen.
