Hi I am a first timer.

I am trying to use my new 40 Gb iPod with Windows 2000 Pro on a Dell laptop without success.

My Firewire card is a Texas Instruments OHCI Compliant IEEE 1394 Host Controller.

When I connect the iPod, it is recognised as a disk drive in Device Manager, not once but twice.

Firstly as Apple Computer_Inc. iPod IEEE1394 SBP2 Device and secondly as Unknown Vendor and Model IEEE 1394 SBP2 Device.

Both have a yellow exclamation mark against them. When I check the properties of each one, it reads ?This Device Cannot Start (Code 10).?

Yet if I uninstall one and check the properties of the other, it reads ?No Drivers Are Installed For This Device.? Yet when I update the drivers I am told that a suitable driver is already installed for this device.

The iPod is recognised in the iPod Manager but when I try to launch 2.0.1 Updater, I get a ?Can?t Mount iPod? message.

Any help would be gratefully appreciated.
