I just bought a brand new 30 GB Ipod two days ago. Last night I spent the night at a friend's house, and I waited two hours for another friend who never showed up. There was a deluge and I was caught in the open and everything in my backpack got soaked through, inlcuding my Ipod, and Cellphone. Both of which are no longer functioning.
Help me..... Please, someone help me

I've saved cellphones from a fate like this before, by drying them out. However I've always removed the battery immediately; this you can't do with the iPod so you may have already damaged it with short circuits as you can't remove the battery.
The only thing you can really do is ensure that the unit is totally dry and see if it works. You can do this by putting it in a warm place for several weeks, and using something to suck the moisture out of the air around it like lots of silica gel or a de-humidifier.
The prognosis is not good.

Well unfortunately you've already tried to turn it on. Sorry to tell you this, but that was a big mistake. Most likely you've fried it by doing so.
If it's not too difficult, and I wouldn't know if it is or not since I've never tried, I'd suggest opening the case to expose the iPods internals as much as possible to help it dry out. This could takes days, or even weeks, I suppose. But just give it time to dry undisturbed.
Once the iPod appears bone dry, reassemble and hope for the best. As somone already said though, the prognosis is not good. Not good at all.

i would still try to pry it open and unplug the battery, dry out the unit with a hair dryer on cold setting, and leave it for a few days, plug the battery back in and try charging off the wall adapter if you have one.
