I have this problem which occured 3 times on me within the last week where I would be playing random songs, and then a selected song would stop and be stuck on 0:00. I am able to go through menus and scroll around. I try clicking on the next song and its stuck like that, too. My final solution would be to reset it. After resetting it, my nano works properly again Before this week, I never had this problem before and I'm trying to understand why this happens. I do have the most updated firmware on my nano.

I do have linux on my nano and i use ml_ipod to transfer my songs. These two things I've been using for months. I did however have the newest beta of winamp to use with my ml_ipod. Its protected by invisibleshield and this thing did start occuring when I put my invisibleshield on earlier this wek. Sounds silly to blame it on the cover, but could it be the shield is pressing on the buttons to get the nano to just act weird? Could it be the water used from installing my invisibleshield? that would be scary if thats the problem. I also use a monster fm transmitter that connects to my port of my ipod.

I do work out in the gym using some heavy weights and I keep my nano in my pocket. I've been doing this for several months and my nano has never given my problems at the gym.

These are rare occurances and one of the times was happening when I was running on the treadmill at the gym leaving my ipod on the cupholder. The other two occurances happened when listening in my car.

I'm thinking someone might have dealt with same problems where it gets stuck on 0:00. If you can explain to me why it does this, you are one smart person.

Did you try restoring it with the ipod updater. I have to admit that I didn't read your whole post, so if you said you did try it I'll look stupid =)

i dont think i'm gonna restore it until this is really a usual occurance. It's such a hassle backing up the music and adding the music again. I have a feeling it is the firmware, but I'm asking around if someone knows if it is something else. I use my nano about 2 hours a day and feel that some of those times, my nano is bound to screw up.

I'd say its a linux bug, never heard of this problem on the apple firmware - report it to the iPodLinux guys...
