Hello all,

Im looking for a pair of earphones or headphones that are comparable to the Pan HJE 70's in sound and quality in the range of $40-100. I listen to mainly hard rock (Metallica, Tool, Chevelle, Led Zepplin, etc..) so I need something with some oomphh, but not overdone as a more balanced sound is always better than anything overbearing. The HJE's sound good, but the stem thing that comes out of the ear seems unnecessarily long. Has anyone had any uncomfort with that? The HJE's are about as "high end" as I would like to go also, but something cheaper but almost as good will work too. And yes, I have been looking at tons of posts trying to do some research, but I am still weary as to what I should get. I also encode at AAC 160 kbps. Is that sufficient for what I am looking for earphone wise or should I move the encoding up one notch? Thanks in advance for any/all replies.
