I've just recieved my Shure E4's in the post and wonder if anyone has any advice on a first fitting. I really don't want to push them hard into my ear canal, but I do understand from reading reviews that you sort of have to.

Hence the request for advice.

Anyone?

i've never tried these particular earphones, but from my experience with IEMs feom sony, etymotic and UE, the important point is to get a good seal. that may mean trying each different set of flanges and foamies unitl you get that.

when i had the sony ex71s, i used the small buds. with the etys, i cut off the smallest flange on the triples, and with my UEs i've gone with the large buds (weird since my ear canals are quite small - i found the mediums too uncomfortable if they went in too far, and the large still give an excellent seal without too much insertion).

enjoy your shures - a good choice :)
