Hey, I recently purchased the ex81's, and I love them, i THINK.
(I can't seem to get the fit just right....., but i think they're good enough)

I love the sound, however.

My only complaint is that I don't know how to carry them around. I am afraid of breaking the plastic arms of the earphones. And since I bought them refurbished, i don't know if i received the correct carrying case.

I received a clear earbud holder, which works pretty well, i guess, but does not protect the arms. i Also received a gray case, almost like a pill box, which i can't see the earphones fitting into, especially w/ the cords. I don't think this is the correct case.

Does anybody have any solutions that you came up w/ for your ex81's?

My solution was to buy more expensive ones so that I wouldn't care about the 81's as much. Now when I use them, I just wrap them around my Ipod. The plastic arms are very flexible and shouldn't break.

Did you buy the 81's new, and in the sealed packaging. If so, then the case will be the right one. Did you 'try' and get them to fit into the grey case, or do you just 'see them not fitting'.

my solution to hold my ex71's is to wrap them around a smartwrap and then store inside an small tin container. The tin container i use is a "Altoid" mint container that stores your mints. After done with the mints just save the container to store earphones. rinse the container first of course. protects and works great and you can see it as getting a free case for earphones or free mints. :D

EX81s have over the ear clips so I'm not sure if they would fit inside a mint tin.

I'm currently using this tin (http://www.balboacandy.com/oubugumbyhub.html) to store my buds. (W: 1" x L: 2.25" x H: 3.5") :o Purchased at a local Sugar Mountain (http://www.sugarmountain.ca/) store. Would have cost me $5 for an Altoids tin ;)

hey, thanks everyone for responding.

i will try an altoids tin, but the problem is that the Gray case is about the same depth as an altoid tin, ergo, it probably won't fit. well, it MIGHT fit.

I've tried my ex81's in that gray case, and while the headphone part fits, there's no room for the cords at all!

the bubble gum case would be great, but i think it would be too big for my pocket...

wasn't there a case that was supposed to come w/ the headphones where you wind up the cord?

that's probably what would work the best...
