I'm looking at these two headphones i'm wondering if you guys can help me decide. I listen to mostly pop and instrumentals, but like smooth bass. I hate the thump thump thump of the Sony EX70 style headphones. ebay seems to have the 888 for pretty cheap at around $50 shipped while the panasonics are harder to find usually costing about $85 shipped. What do you guys think?

where did you find the panasonics for $85 SHIPPED ?!

get them asap, lol.

that's lower than I paid and I found the cheapest price I could.

worth every single penny though.

I have both. If you like in-ears then the HJE70 are great (perhaps a bit bassy, but not crude like the EX71). If you prefer conventional buds, and if you don't find the stock buds uncomfortable (eg if they aren't too big) then the E888s give an astonishingly good hi fi sound. The fit is key, and they are a shade bigger than Senny's MX500s. They don't fit me very well, I'm afraid, but they are marvellous.

Pany HJE50s are horrid. Sony E71 are pretty decent, E888 has better midrange, shure e2 you can't wear outside less you wanna get run over and no bass. How is the bass on Pany HJE70? Those seem to be the next candidate.

E888s with better bass and an in-ear design, perhaps.
