Formatting the mini Microdrive..

I took the microdrive out of a broken ipod mini, and i believe that it actually might work. I put it in an iBook, and the iBook recognized it but i couldnt format it. Now im home again, on my XP laptop but the computer won't recognize the card. So my question is, what can you do with this microdrive? Can you format it using som program or something? Help would be greatly appreciated.

I called apple, and had about a four hour conversation with them. When this happens, you're ####ed, because nobody knows how to format the mini hard drives.

So you can't format it? You've got a broken drive my friend. Actually, after using a bit of wikipedia, i found that they disabled the CF mode on those hard drives. It's impossible to use them in any non-hard drive application, unless there's a way to re-enable cf mode. . . . damn.
