I bought some sony ones, and they were horrible. I like the iPod buds until I buy some Panasonic HC-EJ's or whatever they are called...I'm nuts to pay $149.99 dollars for headphones...

the apple in ears do suck
BUT
if you buy shure e2c headphone sleeves for them and use those instead... they are as good as any 70-100 dollar headphone out there

I absolutely agree. I bought the in ears because the ear buds were so uncomfortable. Well, the in ears fell out so easily, so I put the shure e2c foam covers on them. They're perfect, and they come in a ten pack for a reasonable price. The earphones sound great, are really comfortable, and they now stay in my ears!

I thought this was the case.
A member posted under my 'e2c sleeves' thread last week claiming how there is no way they would fit.

You can also use the eartips from Sony 71/81's.

hmmm...i love the apple in-ears, have never had problems with them coming out, & find they block a lot of bkgd. noise.

was i right to buy the sony's ex51s over the apple's? I feel kinda bad about not buying the same apple brand, but I figure most of the price on the apple's is name brand markup.. not to mention i read so many bad reviews and low bass

Has anyone found, anywhere, the specs for the iPod Nano In Ear Lanyard headphones? I called Apple, the tech could not find it, I did a few web searches, contacted suppliers, checked the box and the manual - all to no avail. Why is the frequency response, etc. for these headphones not public information? If it is, where is it being kept?

Avoid the Apple in-ears like the plague, but don't totally ignore that style altogether. My Shure E3c with the triple flange sleeves ($189) are great. They work better than most dedicated noise-cancelling headphones.

I somehow managed to cram them in my ears.
They're meh, still a step up from the originals and comparable to the ex51 i got my brother.

cram them in your ears with e2c sleeves or not? They fit well but look a little awkward. Function over fashion right. I bought med. silicone tips and they fit me fine but its hard to know what size ear canal you have.

Actually they look pretty good.
You put them in like you put on normal headphones, and just cram it inside. To a person looking outside, you cant tell the difference.
