To those who use Sony's EX51 earbuds:

I recently re-bought some EX51's today at Best Buy and found a very interesting discovery. It appears that Sony has started to make these earbuds' cord out of a different material. I'm not sure if I'm the only who experienced this, but the cord near the earbuds themselves would start to kind of "twist" (like it would if you were holding one end of the cord while twisting the earbud). The cord on these new 51's seem to be made out of a stronger material (noticeably "stiffer" or harder than the old ones I had). Just thought I'd share that bit of info w/EX51 owners who've had problems with what I described above. Let me know if any other EX51 users have experienced this problem that I had.

Same here, but with the ex71. New cord, much stiffer and durable. Well done sony for the revision!

Is there a difference in the packaging of them?

I plan on buying a pair of EX51s but I want to make sure I get the better cable.

Is there any difference in the look of the cord?

Why buy these?

You can do so much better, so easily.

Have you considered the alternatives?

What are the alternatives for the same or lesser price?

the packaging doesn't look different (I don't think)
