win ipod for home pc and mac notebook?

hi--i have a pc at home, with 6000 songs, and a 40 gb 4th gen ipod formatted for windows.

i am getting an ibook for work, and would like to:

1. transfer my songs to the ibook from the ipod
2. be able to synch the ipod with both the ibook and the home pc

i searched, but couldnt find anything on point. is this doable?

Set the iPod to manual and leave it windows formated. You can't sync it to both. You can use software to transfer the songs.
