I love this forum. I started reading it prior to getting my iPod like alot of others did to read about problems others were having incase I ran into the same situation. But here is the deal now.....I have never had one problem what so ever with my iPod. I took it out of the box and connected to my computer and transfered over 2,000 songs the very first day. I has worked like it is suppose to every time I drop it in the dock.
But I am sure I am not the only one that is experiencing this......or am I? I hope I am not jinxing myself by asking this :D

there are others that would be cursing you for your good fortune LOL

do you have the same 'problem' with other bits of technology ie computers, mobile phones, PDAs?

anyway it is good to share happy stories so that people realise that these forums aren't full of problems or complaints.

btw i haven't had any probs with my iPod either : )

yinyang,

Well I have to report that I have not been as lucky with other devices. I had a very hard time with my Compaq iPaq. I got it to work finally and I really don't know how I did it! I don't think PDAs like me, because I had terrible times with a Palm Pilot and Handspring Visor as well.

But this iPod has been totally different. I use it every day for at least 6-7 hours and I am constantly adding songs and editing songs and tags and it is working like a champ!!!

My 2 iPods are working as fine as it is only possible...
I use one of them each day and I also update them by iSync every 10 minutes :D with my Apple G4 Powerbook, I transfer the whole day songs to the iPod. And I've never had any problems with one of them. So I can say "I love my iPods" :D
But I had some problems with my Apple G5, which I bought last week. I had to study for 1 day how the new MAC OS X Panther works, and I had to install for the whole weekend, but finally it works. Sometimes during the installation, I tought "The commands of Linux are easier" but they aren't ;). Maybe this new lovely nice wonderful fast and expensive G5 doesn't like me at all :D because I am a CEO :)

But the G5 was the first computer I had problems with. (if I don't speak of a PC with Windows installed on it :D)

I've never had any problems with my iPod and it has worked flawlessly from the very first day. I do wish everyone could say the same. It seems that many problems are the result of not reading the documentation and not reading the Apple support documents, though.

Lyda,

I am glad to hear others have been experienced the same joy I have. And I agree, most problems I have read here are the result of people that have failed to read the manual.

I'm gettng my iPod for Christmas and I love browsing around these forums to prepare myself, reading every single thread that complains so that I'm prepared for everything from crashes to fingerprints, and it's really good to finally hear someone who's experience has been flawless. Thanks, and best of luck with your faultless iPod.

Right on Chelce!

I guess I wanted others to know that there are people out there that has never had problems and had smooth sailing! I hope you become one of them too

I only had a problem when I first connected the iPod to my iBook. I tried something like updating firmware while using the pod as a firewire HD and updating via iTunes. The iPod said do not disconnect, but it was doing nothing. I later found out it was because I had to unmount the pod as a HD. So actually now that I think about it, it wasn't a problem, just my fault :o

All is good now :0

I've been using my iPod for two weeks now, and not had any real problems at all, once I finally got everything installed. I had to upgrade from Win98, but after that everything went smoothly. iTunes has crashed twice when I was ripping CD's, importing music to the iPod (I don't use the sync feature), and running several other applications all at the same time. That's my biggest complaint, that iTunes is a bit of a resource hog (I have a 1.8 Pentium 4 with 256 MB, so the PC should be capable). My other complaint is that I didn't have nearly enough music on my PC already (I thought 500+ songs was a lot, boy was I wrong!), so I've been staying up late ripping CD's or surfing for music, and not getting enough sleep!

I guess I could complain that I'm not getting enough work done, because I spend too much time on these boards looking up how to do stuff and planning my in-car system like Pinky and the Brain plotting to rule the world. But honestly, I will probably get to the gym more often now that I have it, so I can honestly say the iPod will be good for my health, once I get caught up on the sleep!

Two iPods and basically a flawless existence except for an issue I ran into with connecting to my server that has all my Mp3's and is the machine I use to sync off of. I use Terminal Services and it doesn't play nice with removable drives and assigning letters in the same session. But I chalk that up to a Windows problem. The iPods otherwise have worked great.
