I received a 10 gig iPod as a gift a little over a year ago, which I sent in just before my year was up because the battery life had diminished a lot. When I called Apple the rep said it might take longer for the repair because it was personalized...so about two weeks later I called Apple, to discover that average repair time for a personalized iPod is about 35 days. Ack!
On the upside, it appears I am getting a new 'Pod, as they need to do the engraving again. But daaaaaaamn--that is a long wait.
Thought I'd warn people who have the personalized ones that they have a downside.
