Ok I'm looking into these earphones because I like the over the ear style earphones but I also want to try the insolating type ones. The only thing that has held me back is the cord length. I've read that the cord is short to connect to a remote and the extension makes it too long (I read 6ft). I don't use a remote.

At futureshop the model number is MDR-EX81SL
At Amazon the model number is MDR-EX81LP

Whats the difference between the SL and the LP? is it the cord length? because reviews on Futureshop complain about the cord length but not on Amazon.

Thanks!

These are dreadful. Exactly the same earpiece as the EX71. Very poor, muddy, over-bassy sound.

One is long cord, one is short. The short cord model comes with an extension lead.

Which one is the long cord? And is the short cord extension overly long?

I'm not like an audiophile or anything, I usually use cheap earbuds from Sony(about $15) and I'm just thinking these may be an improvement on sound quality. Do you think these would be good for me?
