It seems that the only way to set the equalizer is to do it tune by tune. But, this is impractible when you have thousands of tunes. In iTunes, I have the Equalizer turned on - and set to Acoustic. On the iPod, I have the Equalizer turned on and set to Acoustic. But it doesn't seems to work. Also, in iTunes, when the Equalizer column is showing, it only allows me to set a Preset to one tune at a time. Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong? Or, is there another third party program I can use for Equalizer effects? Thanks........

In iTunes, you can adjust multiple songs by selecting all of the songs you want and adjusting the EQ to the one you prefer. If it is the first time that you do that, it will ask you if you want to change multiple songs. (Then you can click the box that says "Don't ask me again".)
I was wondering if the same thing was possible... and I tried this last night. It works... give it a shot.

I tried it and it worked - thanks for the tip. Now, the only problem is that there doesn't seem to be a lot of difference between the presets - regardless if I use headphones or speakers. I think it's just a poor equalizer. Do you find the same thing?

iPod EQ Settings and Curves
We interrupt this as-of-late aimless blogging (and a-listening to Dylan's Basement Tapes) for this public service announcement concerning iPods and their EQ settings. If, like me, you were wondering about the actual settings of each, here are the frequency response curves (PDF) for each one. I found the link here (scroll almost all the way down to the section titled "Equalization.")
The author details his favorite settings, one of which, Acoustic, is one of mine also. It nicely brightens in the mid-range making up for one of my car speakers' deficits. I also like the Dance setting, not because I'm frequenting the discos, but because it supplies a heavy boost to the bass as well as a similar boost in the midrange as the Acoustic.
I spent much time searching Apple's site for information concerning the EQ settings to no avail, and after much googling discovered this information, which has been very helpful. Readers and future searchers: I hope this helps you too.

Hi! Couldn't find the link to the Equalization settings (PDF). Did I miss it or did you forget to add it to the post? Thanks......
