Yeah... I saw these guys at the Jazz Standard in NYC yesterday. The club was nice, great food. I got front row seats, great spots. The set was short, but they were phenomenal. They are a great piano trio, they add lots of cool elements to it, and it is very original, I recommend you check them out. Me and a friend knocked on their door after the show, and they were happy to sign a CD, and have a quick chat. It was very nice... I'm glad they didn't get mad at us for bugging them hehe.

I recommend them to all fans of jazz... and even people that aren't.

A good recommendation.

Anyone who likes the "jazz trio with an edge" style of Bad Plus should check out EST. Esbjorn is a more accomplished piano player and the compositions have more depth to them. A hit in Europe for a while, this Swedish group is just starting to make a splash stateside. They're pretty consistent album to album but try "When Everyone Has Gone" first if you want to dive in.

Just so happens the jazz mp3 blog "Jazz and Conversation" did a nice article on them recently. Check it out at quietfm.com/jcblog/
