...is really is surpose to be on the drawing board and the way mobile/cellphones look these days it looks like its upto apple to make a decent looking phone! Type 'iphone' in to google images and you get some very real looking designs, I know some motorolas have itunes software in there phones but theyre just not as stylish as some of those desgins. Here is a realitic spec of what it could be like:
Dimensions: 108mm Height. 52mm Width. 20mm Depth
Weight: 120 Grams
Camera: 4 Megapixels 3xopticial zoom (yes the lens would come out)
Meomery: 6GB Mircodrive and MMC Card slot? or 2GB SD Card.
FM radio, MPEG Video NOT MPEG4.
Silver and White finish, earphone jack at the top like iPod not from charger port like most mobiles!

Thats how the Nano is(earjack at bottom) and the Nano would great to work into a phone becuz its so tiny, so Apple might put it at the bottom

2 cm thick is nearly an inch. That's like a brick compared to most cell phones. Of cours e it would need some thickness to accomodate an optical zoom.

no 2.6cm is an inch its slightly less than that. and yes the ipod nano earphones do plug in the bottom, it is better if they go in the top.

I said nearly an inch (79% of one, specifically). An inch is 2.54 cm.
If they chose flash memory over a microdrive, it would be thinner and less prone to damage because it would be solid state.
Cell phones that try to integrate music suck. Apple would have a hell of a time breaking that trend, and would be more likely to contract out any phone design like they did with the worthless ROKR piece of crap. Not that I hate it or anything.

no! the sharp 903 hich came out last year has 3.2 and 2xopticial GPS would be in it, but then there wouldnt be a modem cos the whole internet-phone thing doesnt work! yes mp3 phones will never really take off cos of the iPod. Had they made phone with good meomery a couple of years ago it would have worked! Like sony ericsson W800i and Nokia N91

I think Samsung or someone just released a 7MP phone, but that is just in Asia. Here in the US we are gonna get stuck with nothing more than 2MP camera phones for the next 5 years probably.

Don't forget that those high high high resolution photo's take 10s of megabytes of space after just a picture. This would mean alot if you are trying to save space for music.

The iPod is by far the best mp3 player, there is no real rival to the iPod even though sony and philps try so hard god bless them! thats why music phones will never take off. There is no ipod-camera, what i mean is a digital that is as popular to digital cameras as ipod is to mp3 players, there is canon as estbilished as the ipod is to the digital music world. thats why camera phones are so popular.

id say they're popular because most phones in stores today have that. there aren't many phones that don't have cameras anymore.

It would be great if the my iPod 60GB was also a phone and also had a mobile phone and an optical zoom digital camera. Some mobile phones are getting that way such as the Sony Erricssons. Although they are really going to have to go towards a hard disc based system rather than SD cards to make that a reality.
Although would there be enough of a market for them? Plenty of people want digital cameras and phones, but a lot of people don't need much more than 5GB for music. Plus it would be hugely expensive and they would definately have to be more durable than most MP3 players because people usually chuck around their phones.
