Every firmware update causes problems with identifying which tool works with which firmware, when concerning removing the stupid EU volume restriction.

For example, I have a 4G 60GB Photo iPod, and I want to upgrade to firmware 3.1.1, but don't know which tools will work with this firmware revision. It's generally hard to find out by searching, as there's tons of different firmwares, tons of iPods, and tons of different tools.

Has anyone successfully removed the limit on a 4G iPod photo running 3.1.1 software? And which tool was successful?

I propose a sticky thread somewhere laid out in a straightforward manner, with clearly labelled sections for the new firmwares and different iPods. I am willing to do this if the administrators wish? All it requires is people to post their successes/failures and the top post can then be updated, and can be the authoratitive post on the matter.

GoPod http://gopod.free-go.net/ has worked on my iPod mini and iPod nano on all updates except for the very last one which I still have to install. As the updates refresh the firmware you have to run GoPod after each update. Without GoPod I would have ditched my EU iPods and bought replacements from the US. Bought my 5G from the US for that very reason.

GoPod works with the new firmware on 4GB Photo iPods.

Sorry I did not mean to infer that GoPod would not work with the latest updater, more that I have not installed the latest updater on my iPods and so have not tried GoPod with it yet.
