Hi. I've searched the forums and haven't found anything similar to the problem i've been having. About a week ago my iPod was running low on battery power, so I went to charge it; which i do through my PC since it's on most of the time. I noticed that it didn't mount when i opened iTunes, the battery didn't charge either. The battery icon was flashing the lightning bolt but nothing was happening. Every fifteen minutes or so it would restart with the battery signal in the middle and then appear to be charging. I then used the AC Adapter with the same result. I thought this was some sort of fluke error so I then reset it, but that didn't work. It's not my USB port because I use the same one for other devices. It's not a faulty USB wire either, I tried it with a couple of friends computers and have had the same problem. Anyone ever have that problem? Can anyone offer any help? Thanks in advance!

I'm having a similar problem......the other night I was playing my ipod through my speakers and it was working fine but I noticed it wasnt charging at the same time which it usually does. Then when i went to charge it from the adapter it froze and didnt charge. I did a reset and it came on again and the green charging light was flashing so I thought i would listen to a few songs while it was charging but it cut out in the middle of the songs. It says battery was low and froze so i reset it again. Now when it comes on it still indicates its charging but its not holding the charge. When I go to play songs it doesnt play the songs it just runs through them one after the other. Then if I start pressing buttons it just freezes again.
When i plug it into the computer it looks as though its charging too. I thought of doing a complete restore but it does not show up on the computer to do so
Any help would be great even if it is to tell me to give up hope cause I really dont know what to do. I only want to send away to apple as a last resort so if there is anything i could try it would be magic!
thanks
sarah
