hello for some reason whenever i plug my ipop in to charge, for awhile it will come up with the dont disconnected ipod, and it will charge update or whatever, then it just stops chargin and goes idle and sometimes just shuts off until i click a button on it. it while just sit at the idle screen where it shows music extra settings etc, how do i keep it to just charge! arg

Make sure your computer is on and try plugging it into a different port. You can also restore the iPod but this will erase the iPod contents but if the problem is the iPod then it may correct the problem. You can also check the Apple support site for information.
