I recently bought the carrying case for my new 10 gig Ipod and it's pure crap. I paid 40 $ for it and the #### thing has a solid front. I thought there was like holes in it so that you could actually USE the Ipod without having to remove it from the case. The funny part is that apple.com only shows pictures of the case from the side - you can't actually see how worthless it is. I mean, you might as well get a freakin' plastic bag and use that as a carrying case, what if you're on the threadmill in the gym and you want to change songs ?? You're going to have to un-clip the carrying case, remove the Ipod, and then change songs. Really stupid.

They probably had it more in mind as a companion to the remote.

First off, I agree that the case isnt the best... certainly not worth the amount Apple is charging for them.
And Im not sure if you did any research first, but if you've searched the new or the old forums, you would of known that this case isnt that great at all.

Sell it on eBay, then buy the iSee case (if you have Gen2 iPod).

Well, you should have done research before you bought it. There are two kinds of cases. most manufacturers sell both types. The ones with botton+wheel access are usually more expensive. Some people don't need the access because they have the remote.

Good luck though.

Yeah, it's been said many times before... I think Apple was just going for a case that protects everything (except half of the sides...) And for the remote thing, isn't there a apple flap that covers it?

I just want to try working out on one of these "threadmills". ;)

Sounds like quite a scary piece of equipment. :D

If you're working out on a "threadmill", the Mareware Sportsuit Convertible is the best way to go IMHO...

Or maybe a nice pin cushion would work well too...

Yes I concur with Chris. I am very pleased with my Marware at the gym. Especially the armband.

I don't think there is anything wrong with the Apple case except for the price. It protects my 30GB IPod just fine. If I'm going to the gym, I use the OTG playlist so I don't have to take the IPod out of my pocket. Pay a little bit more and get the Vaja case. I'm planning to buy the Vaja case for both of my IPods in the near future.

I just thought of this, shouldn't this topic be moved to cases?
