I'm so angry right now! I go to a Private Christian School and I really enjoy it. We were allowed to have and use our iPods on campus as long as it wasn't during class.
Well, thursday afternoon(during lunch time), one of the students was caught watching porn on his iPod and now all iPods are banned from school property. If we are caught with an iPod in our possesion we will get expelled.
It's just so frustrated. One kid couldn't wait a few more hours to get his fix, so no one gets to enjoy their iPods while their at school!

i also go to a private school and we also have an ipod policy similar to yours,
we're not allowed to use our ipods during class, but we can use them during passing period and during lunch.. we don't seem to have a problem, and i'd encourage you guys to not put porn on your ipod..

Save your ignorance for somewhere where it's appreciated. That isn't what this topic is for. I was just sharing my anger, frustration, and a comical/ironic situation with the people here. So really, it's not your place to say.

Point of watching porn is to produce testosterone and testosterone is for all sorts of reasons. I don't have any porn in my iPod.
Alright now that i got that out of the way. My school doesn't allow electronic devices except before and afterschool, but its crazy how we students just overule the teachers. I see kids using cellphones in class and listening to music through out the whole lecture.

ragingSPAM, you have been in the forums long enough to know that it is strictly against forum rules to try to bypass the filter. Also, your extremely rude remarks can be seen as trolling. In case you forgot, I've posted the definitions below. Don't let it happen again.
No Profanity
No profanity in the iLounge forums, please. Not everyone wants to read foul or off-color language, and those who do not should not have to be subjected to it. This includes attempts to circumvent the word censor or any other form of word ma5k1ng. Also, please do not post links to pornography or other adults-only content.
No Trolling
No posts obviously designed to attract flames or otherwise incite other posters to react negatively and aggressively will be tolerated. We are all in the iLounge forums based on one common trait - our love of the iPod, and we do not need to try and bait or trap each other. Doing so is a waste of time, space, and bandwidth.

Thats a funny story. A lot of schools are banning them because they aid cheating, porn, and people rip them off others.

that's sucks, my school allows them, not during class of course. And if we get done our work, most teachers will let you listen to them. But i wouldnt be suprised if they banned them, which would #### me off royally because thats really the only time i use it.

LOL, that's awesome. Pull up some porn sites on the computers and see if you can get them to ban all computers from the campus as well.

i gotta agree with Kristiano, what if they started watching porn on those zen m thingies. or if kids started coming to school with creatives or dell dj's?

Well, when 50 year olds think of a portable electronic media device, they automatically think of iPods. It's like everyone calling tissues "kleenex", even though kleenex is only one brand of tissue. So, they were basically refering to all portable electronics that weren't cell phones.

Well thats what happened to me in HS last year. Im in college now and the school utilizes iPods as a portable HD so students can download lessons, classwork, etc. I think some of the really fortunate K-12 schools are using the iPods for the same reasons. I read an article about kindergardeners using the audiobook function so kids can read storys. My HS was poorly funded so its also dangerous to have expensive things like iPods because the school doesn't want to be responsible for stolen electronic devices.

I agree with Kris fully. Just iPods or DAPs fully? What about iPods without video? And expulsion for possession is a bit intense for what one person did. Have HIM be expelled, and say, "If anyone is caught doing what he did, you will have the same fate" or something of that sort.

It's a Christian school. They're gonna make a big deal over it, they're pretty much obligated to make a big deal over it.
Though, I'm sure the conditions would vary depending on what the person had on their iPod. But, I won't be the one to test it.
