I recently installed a Blitzsafe unit in my car to hook my nano directly into the head unit through the RCA inputs. However, I am having a strange problem with noise coming through the speakers when my nano is connected. I notice it slightly increases anytime I use the buttons or turn up the volume on the ipod. I've made sure that the audio is all grounded to the same spot, directly to the chassis. I've tested and found that the noise completely disappears when I connect from the headphone jack through the RCA inputs, so I know it has something to do with the fact that the ipod is being charged by the car, since the same thing happened when I had a cigarette adapter with an audio out on the piece that plugs into the ipod. This is extremely frustrating and I would seriously appreciate any help someone can give me. Thanks.

You might want to try putting a ground loop isolater inbetween the nano and the blitzsafe unit. You can get these (and return them) pretty easily at radio shack.

Did it, worked wonderfully, even cut out alternator whine. I did, however, try everything before I resorted to that and still could not fix the problem (shielding, single ground...). Just kind of interesting. Thanks!
