Hi, Loungers. Just registered to post some good news (which some may have heard).
I just got off the phone with an uncommonly candid phone agent at Belkin.
She told me to hold off on any in-car solution purchases for another few weeks because Belkin's about to release a new version of their TuneBase FM. The new version will have a shorter, stiffer gooseneck like the revised TuneBaseFM has, but with the following two major improvements:
1. The FM transmitter will be MUCH more powerful (her words)
2. It will come with adapters to make it compatible with ALL IPODS (her words). I have a feeling that she meant all dockable iPods. It will fit the iPod Mini, although I'd expect it will be wider since it's got to fit under 4G & 5G/Video iPods.
For those who like the form factor and minimal installation fuss, this could be the killer in-car solution. We'll see.
FYI.
