I am trying to use an Apple universal dock in my car, similar to those who did this in the post pictures thread. Unfortunately I don't have an auxillary port in my factory radio and am using an FM modulator. I can't get it to play when I connect the modulator to the back of the dock and plug the ipod into the top. Does anyone know if this should work? And if not, what would you recommend for this setup.

It won't work because the fm modulator is made to be used in the top of the iPod not the dock. if you want to use the dock you need to get a line in into your car stereo or get a stereo that can handle a line in.

The transmitter that I am using is the Monster icar, which connects to the bottom (dock connector) port on the ipod. This is just temporary until I install my Pioneer head unit, but I want to be able to use the same dock.
I guess the question is whether the dock connector on the universal dock behaves just like the dock connector on the ipod.
