I recently had a Pioneer DEH-P470MP headunit installed in my car along with the Pioneed CD-IB100 iPod adapter. At the local install shop, they hooked up an iPod mini and an iPod nano and both of them worked fine. However, when we connect my 3rd-Generation iPod, the headunit simply says "READY" and eventually says "ERROR-11" which according to the manual is a communication failure.

I've called both Apple and Pioneer, no one has been able to get me an answer. Does anyone know what the problem is? Also, has anyone ever gotten a 3rd-Generation iPod to work with the CD-IB100.

Thanks in advance.
Matt.

Hi MattFoxtrot,

I have had my iPod using the cd-ib100 connected to my deck for 6 months now (deck is DEH-P4050 purchased in 1999) and have had no problems until this morning.

My iPod was working perfectly, but for no particular reason, my deck was displaying the exact same symptoms as you described (Ready & error-11). I just reset the ipod and hooked it all back up and the problem is now fixed!

Ugh..I am having the exact same problem with my video ipod, CDIB100II, and 880PRS. I called pioneer and they said it was a faulty CDIB, so I got a replacement. Same bahavior. I have updated the ipod to the most recent SW version and done a reset, but no luck. Nice to hear this problem seems to be random.
