iTrip Compatibility

I recently bought an iPod video and an iTrip to play my music on my car stereo...however when i received the package i noticed that the 5th generation iPod's weren't mentioned in the compatibility list of the iTrip...so isn't it compatible with the new iPod or has it come out before and therefore couldn't mention the 5th generation but is still compatible?

I know i should open and try it but i don't want to open the package so as to return it...

You just need to make sure you have the iTrip with dock connector. Any of the others aren't compatible with the 5G.
