I got the Belkin Auto kit for my car and I tried to get it to work and it didn't work with my vid ipod. I did what the instructions said, plugged in the adapter and turn volume on CD player down. I then turne don ipod and turned volume up on cigarette lighter adapter and searched for a channel, but nothing came up. What am I doing wrong? I have a Alpine CD player, not stock.

Check the fuse of the cigarette lighter, if it is blown the Auto Kit will not pass any audio.

the green light on the Belkin thing is turned on, which in the instruction manuel said it means its working.

Why are you searching for a channel? The Auto Kit isn't an FM transmitter.

did you read #4 of the intructions?

"Connect your cassette adapter, FM transmitter or any other audio equipment to the 3.5mm audio-out jack and listen to your iPod through your car stereo or portable stereo device."
