I have managed to lose my playlists twice now because I use the manual control, and something got corrupted on my 4G iPod so that iTunes would not talk to it anymore until restored to factory fresh. Fortunately I had taken steps to have the songs backed up to a directory on my hard drive, so restoring them was no problem. But what about the playlists??? Is there ANY good way to have them backed up to the hard drive so they can be restored into iTunes and the pod after a pod messup? The various apps I've looked at all seem to be about reading the playlists from off a good iPod rather than going the other way...
