Stop playing when track has finished?

Is there anyway I can get my ipod (or itunes) to stop playing when a track has finished, rather than going on to the next track?

I'm a music teacher and I know this is a problem that many other music teachers come across. At the moment I use a remote, but short of making a playlist for each track, I can't see any other way of doing it.

Any ideas please?

There is no other of doing this except making playlists as you said. There other way to do it is if the song is the last one on an 'artist' 'genre' 'song' list.
