advice needed on headphones

well... some guiding would be apreciated, because i want to buy sony MDR-EX81LP/B or etymotic ER-6i, both are isolator phones but im not sure wich one to buy because i dont want to spend a lot of money but i wear glasses and the thing that the MDR-EX81LP/B have near before the earbuds would be a problem.

im not specting a lot just some advise. thx

I would try the Sony MDR-EX51's ... I love mine and have been using them forever. They have a great deal on them at amazon.com. Since you wear glasses, these might be the most comfortable for you.

As far as I know, they sound the same as the 81's...others may be able to confirm or deny.

no audio difference between ex51 and 71
the 71's cord is longer, and have a shiny plastic piece on the bud

i think the 51's look better without the shiny piece, and the cord is perfect length

Yes, the 51's are great in White, i got mine this moring through the post. I had 71's in Black before, no diffrence in sound quality, just that the cord is way too long, and it has chrome oon the side. I would go for the 51's.

There's a difference between the 51/71 and the 81, because the 81 fits in a different way. All use the same 'speakers' though.


The Shure E2c is a higher quality option and is smoother than and somewhat more accurate than the EX series, as well as providing higher isolation. It's not hugely comfy though. The ER-6i would provide a significant increase in the accuracy of the sound, at the expense of quite a lot of bass, making it sound quite tinny in relation to the others. This may be a sound that you may or may not get used to. It's fairly comfortable to wear.
