About Synching

I have my iPod set for manual synching on my main computer. I remember that the default setting was auto synching. I've just bought myself a laptop and was wondering whether the synching is remembered by the computer or the iPod. That is to say if I hook my iPod up to my laptop, will it delete all of the songs on my iPod and replace them with the ones on my laptop, or will it know that the iPod is set for manual synching? It seems logical that the iPod would know. It was a lot of work putting my collection on my iPod, so as you can imagine, I don't want to chance having to start over.

The first time I plugged my iPod into a second computer it comes up with a warning that says something to the effect of "This iPod is set to sync with another computer. Do you want to replace your music with this computer's library? This will delete all information on your iPod." I clicked No and it set to manual syncing on the second computer.

Just read the warning carefully.
