I've had my 5g ipod for about 1 1/2 months and the stock earphones are already blown. This is the first time I've ever had earphones blow a speaker/driver. If you listen to any song that has even the slightest bass the right earphone rattles like crazy.

I don't even use them but I let people I work with use them when they want to listen to my ipod. I use EX-71's.

Yeah you get what you pay for. I dont expect free earbuds to be the best. It still blows my mind that people insist on using them.

I wouldn't exactly call them free. I'm sure the cost of the earphones is included in the retail price. If there were no earphones included the price would be cheaper.

The earphones that are included with the PSP are better quality than apples. They could have done better.

Yeah I guess, but free or not, they are crap nonetheless.

Oh my gosh, the earphones included with the PSP hurt like nothing I've ever experienced before! I can only play a game for about an hour before I have to take them out.

Honestly, I don't find the stock earbuds all that bad, though they certainly aren't great. To me, they are comfortable and do a good job of getting the sound into my ear. Of course, I think I'll stick with my E3Cs.

they're the most comfortable things to me EVER

personally I hated when my first pair broke (from the mini) due to my accidentally snapping them not by the fault of the product at all! I was so fracked off when I saw apple didn't sell them :/ just a lot more expensive types.

I can't find any with the same kind of weight in the actual bud and that fit into my ear quite as well.

I thought they sounded decent before they blew. But now they sound horrible. Anybody else have one blow out or did I just get a faulty pair?

i really actually like the stock earbuds. they're not the most comfortable but whatever. very nice to me, actually they cost 40 dollars at the apple store, so if apple didn't include them, then the price would be cheaper.

Apple does not sell the stock earbuds seperately. The $40 earbuds they sell are the in-ear earbuds. They are similar but not the same thing.

I find it amazing that people actually want the apple ear buds. I sold mine to a high school kid for $15. He insisted on the price not me. I was just going to give them to him for free. I think they are crap but apparently he liked them, or he was a poseur...
