i'm planning to buy a new set of earphones and it came down to those 3. i used to own a pair of sony ex71's and they only lasted 6 months of regular use. keep in mind i dont go to the gym or bike or anything like that, just regular about an hour of music per day. i was really satisfied with their sound/bass/comfort, not super amazing compared to the regular apple buds but still very good. ever since my ex71s broke i've been 'using' the regular ipod buds, which is EXTREMELY uncomfortable and the sound quality is not good at all.

so how do the shure e2c, ue super.fi 3, and etymotic er-6i's compare to one another? which one will give me the most improvement over the ex71s? if theyre not noticably better than the ex71s i dont think i should bother buying any :-/ which one is the most comfortable? are they durable? warranty/repair? i dont want them to end up like my ex71s. overall, which ones are definately worth the price and i won't regret it?

any advice would be appreciated, but please dont offer anything higher than these because i only have $100 to spend and i'm definately picking one of these. keep in mind that i have only previously used the regular apple buds and the sony ex71s so try to keep your opinions compared to those. also, any good deals on any of these anywhere in the US?

I just got the Etymotics and am LOVING them...

Definately good bass, but it doesn't drown out anything else like cheaper bass heavy phones do. It also nearly completely isolates the sound, cause the earpieces go so deep.

And mine haven't even burned in yet.

Burn in... playing music through the headphones/speakers for a period of time so they break in.

Yea, i'd have to second that with my non-expert advice as well. It seems that Shure is #1 on your lists more than UE or etymotic, and the only list that Shure came in 3rd is the sound quality. The sound quality, when comparing UE, Shure, and Etymotic, is going to be the least noticable, except to the trained ear. They'll all sound similar, but the details will get some people.
