Personally... i would get the UE 10's. 900 bucks a pop aint cheap.
On the other hand, i might commission Shure to custom mold a three-driver (highs, mediums, and lows) set for my ears... then make them wireless.
Any others?

I doubt you could make a wireless custom fit earphone with 3 drivers. You could probably do it with only 2 drivers in the same form factor of the UE 10pro.

I was going on the assumption that the technology is available, but not practical for consumers or professionals. In other words, it COULD be done, but not realistically for the market today.

Even so, it would not be hard to make those wireless, micro technology that could be used is available, the only reason there are none around is that they would be so darn expensive that it would not make sense to even produce them.
As for those R10's, i remember now after seeing the picture, they were featured in a Popular Science magazine last year i believe as #1 earphones that money could buy. I think the fact that sony chose to use that certain type of wood for the acoustics that made a difference.

Isn't the Sennheiser Orpheus the best headphone set up money can buy? I know it comes with everything but the retail on the few HE-90 floating around is over 6000$ or something like that.

Just the name sounds expensive.
EDIT: I just found those Sennheiser HD-90's... Last set for just under $20,000

I would get... what I have :p
Although the Westone ES3 might be interesting, I wouldn't mind having an MDR-R10 at all, and the AKG K1000 might be nice in summer.

Well... you talk to companies which sell them, give them some money, provide other details as necessary and wait for boxes.

Not too bad a life eh? How often do you use the Orpheus set?
thedodgyguy

Not that often actually. I only use headphones at home late at night, and even then I sometimes prefer using the Omega II's as they're more comfortable.

Heh, that did sound a bit throwaway :p Honestly though, based on that comfort problem and the fact that my speaker rig offers a much better experience (although admittedly it is somewhat more than the cost of an Orpheus system), I'm beginning to wonder if the 'Big O' has a place in my home. It's got to be one of my least used phones right now.
