View Full Version : Headphone Tech Specs?? Just blew a pair and don't want to again.

I bought some inexpensive Sony S2 Sports Water-Resistant Headphones (MDRJ11G) for the gym. Well, I turned on my iPod the other day and accidentally cranked it full blast, and blew out the headphones.

Features 13.5mm diameter driver units; 104 dB/mW sensitivity; 16-ohm impedance; 20-20,000Hz frequency response; and a 1000mW power capacity.

In hopes of not doing this again, what are the minimum tech specs I should look for in a pair of headphones? I don't know the max wattage output of the iPod (nano), or anything like that. So I'm not sure how to best match the headphone specs in order to avoid blowing another pair out.

If you simply have some Sport headphone recommendations, that would be great. I don't want the direct in-ear ones, in hopes of reducing the affects on my hearing.

THANKS!!!!!!
