I bought a set of the Sure E2c tonight. Got them home and boy was I disapointed!! The sound was very shallow with hardly any bass response. These suckers are going back tomorrow!
I've been in the pro sound area for many years and have always heard good things about these.
My rating would be a 3 out of 10.

I just oredered the Ultimate Ears super.fi 3's in black from earphonesolutions.com.
These will be my first IEM's. There weren't a ton of reviews online and the ones I read were mixed, though written by people who had experience with much higher quality phones, so I accept I'm not getting top of the line :P
I ended up choosing the UE's because i read they were comfortable. I ultimately plan on getting the super.fi 5pro's but couldn't justify getting them right away since I don't even know if i like canal phones.
Especially since I'm in Canada. I got them for 82 US minus 10% discount from an ilounge coupon, and $19 for regular postage, which they said i shouldn't have to worry about any fees *crosses fingers*
I'll let you know how I like them when I get them since the e2c's were the others i was looking at.
Now all i have to do is get an ipod haha

have to agree with Itara, the super.fi 5 is the way to go if you want really good bass response, although i would go with the super.fi 5eb model ( eb stands for extended bass). I cant believe the hype about the e2c, ive had them and the sony ex71, the latter being much superior.

i own a pair of shure e2g's and while there is room for improvement from a sound quality standpoint the bass is very adequate and the audio response is very nice given its pricepoint. perhaps you have a fit and seal issue? for under $100 i really wouldn't expect any more.

mitchg - compare the UE super.fi 3 Studios to the Shure E2s.. same pricetag.. you'll be amazed at what you're missing out on.

itara, before i purchased the shure's i did consider the ultimate ear 3's but found them to be lacking in the bass department. most of the music that i listen to has alot of bass in it therefore the ue's wouldn't have worked. my next purchase will however be the superfi 5 pro's.

Are you sure you had them fitted correctly? I thought the Shures sounded good, save for the fact they were too big for my ears.

Im afraid that if your a bass head like myself the the ipod and the e2c's just do not go together, while the sound is very clear and crisp, (and hence the quality) the bass response is very poor indeed. I understand that this is because of the very tight fit which compresses the air between earpiece and the eardrum, this reduces the ability to recreate significant bass......supposedly!!??!!, when using the rubber tips on the e2c it almost creates a vaccum feel, this is why it hurts if you pull them out quick because of the suction effect, so ive found anyway!

I think iTara is on the publicity comitee for UE. Either that or theyre damn good.
I have the e2c and the only think i have to say is the saoud good, the really sound good on the bass departament and the insolation is really good, and for my the best is the soft flex sleeve and the foams, and i just have two days with my shures...

Are you sure you got a proper seal? Did you try all the included ear tips?

Yeah, I tried them all and actually spent quite a bit of time trying the different tips to see how they fit and how the sound was.
