Anyone have a link to, or experience with, both of these headphones? If you haven't used both, please don't tell me why yours is better.

I've used ER-6s for over one year, and like them, but have had one problem (flange separated from earphone while in my ear, yikes), and the replacement pair just got looped around a door and the wire separated from the jack (my fault, but still a little flimsy for me, as a daily train/subway commuter).

If someone could point me to a good comparison between the two, or at least describe the difference in terms of sound, I'd be interested. Not looking to ditch Ety, but as I'm in the market for a new pair, I at least wanted to consider the Shures.

Many thanks!
Paul

Just a question.. why aren't you considering Ultimate Ears (www.ultimateears.com) in your descision? they blow both out of the water :)

You can read some great reviews of all 3, and even comparisons over at www.headfi.org :)

Thanks iTara... I had considered them, but thought I'd read some bad things about their sound in a non-amp'd environment. Thanks for the links!

I used to have the er6i's before, but gave them to my brother. Right now, I own a pair of shure e3c's and e5c's. I'm selling the e3's, now that i have e5's. As for how the e3's compare to the 6i's, I'd say that the e3's have a warmer sound with an emphasis on the midrange, while the 6i's have a more precise highrange. Both lack bass, however, which is why I switched to the e5's. When I had my 6i's, I loved listening to my classical music with them. On the otherhand, the e3's were good for jazz as the vocals sound amazing on them.
