iTrip not working with 5g

I just got the two items from apple but the itrip with dock just isnt working. If i power off and plug it in it boots up in diagnostic mode, where i can test the ipods settings. If i power on, insert, play a song, nothing. Help.

keep playing with it - had the same problem...

try holding down the play button. plug in the itrip while the pod is off, then hold down play and / or the center button and the itrip should power on... had to go to best buy today to have it shown to me today....

keep trying things... centre button plus play resets it :(

The proper reset sequence is turn the hold switch on and off, then press and hold Menu and Center until the Apple logo appears.

Did you read the included documentation? iTrips tend to have quirks, like previous versions needing the volume between 50% and 75% to work (it wouldn't even turn on otherwise).

It had nothing, just the cardboard in the box that the itrip is mounted to. I will try the volume trick when i get home though, thanks.
