Itunes detect my nano

Help!

When i connect my nano to my computer it will say the usual "do not disconnect" and charge.

But itunes wont detect my ipod.

What do i do?

Every now and then mine does the same thing but I usually will eject the iPod (from My Computer) and shut down iTunes. Then I will restart iTunes and then plug in the iPod and it recognizes it. A couple times I have had to restart the computer, start iTunes, then plug in the iPod and it never fails to detect the iPod.
