after using the apple nano arm band for a couple weeks now (it was the only one available when i bought the nano) it's still ok, but I doubt it will last more than 4-5 more months.
the velcro is starting to not stick all that well and the neoprene isn't holding up that well. I use the nano soley at the gym and on my forearm since their fit models were either skeletons or women.
luckly, I left the protected clear tape they put on the nano from the factory.. I picked up one of those rubber skins for it (not apples brand, I didn't need 5 colors or to pay $30 for .5 cents worth of material). However, the knock off fits the nano quite well, picked it up at pcmall for $10. what it doesn't fit.. is back into the apple arm band with it on, haha.
