my ipod has started showing the folder icon when i try to turn it on. I think it started this when my computer froze when opening musicmatch jukebox, but before i was transferring any files. I have tried to follow the instructions on the apple website, but the computer will not connect to the ipod, but must be connecting in some way as the unplug/eject hardware symbol shows on taskbar.

does anyone know anything else to try, or do i need a repair?

What happens when you run the Updater? What error are you gettiing?

The computer does say there is an error, just freezes.

However, I discovered if I open the updater then connect the ipod I can restore it, but after formatting it says wait until the ipod has finished updating, and the ipod says ok to disconnect. when I disconnect the ipod it continues to say ok to disconnect until I reset, and it goes back to the folder icon, or plug back into the computer.

I cannot get it to show ok to disconnect without resetting and pressing previous/next.
