Hey im having trouble on which one to ask for for christmas. our family isnt rich, so im skeptical even asking for a nano but now i dont know which one to ask for. 2 GB or 4GB? theyre both awfully expensive, and i have over 1000 songs on my computer so it be smarter to ask for the 4GB but i dont know. It is awfully expensive, and u guys prolly know that feeling of asking for high priced things. I mean i could live with a 2GB iPod nano but id much rather prefer to get 4Gb but i dont want to pressure $250 out of our family. Its twice the size for $50 but i dont know. ANy help would be great. thanks

4GB = double the space for only $50 more..
2GB = half the space for only $50 less.
I know what I'd be saving for.. (and i did!) :)

aight thanks but it just feels weird asking for something $250 . U just get this weird feeling like 'im greedy", i mean even $200 is pushing it for my family. Oh well i'll try

Give them both options, and explain it to them like i did to you.. and tell them its their choice :)

take the 200, and find a job and get an extra 100 and get a video iPod

i concur. get money, then pitch in your own and get whatever you want.

If your going to feel bad as a result of asking for the 4gb, than explain and show them sence as to why you prefer the 4gb over the 2gb.
Keep in mind you will have to spend further money on a case.
If you have over 4gb of music, than the 4gb (or the video) is definetly the option, or you could pitch in savings.
I don't think many people are going to say the 2gb is better value per GB. But then again, you get the player, which does a similar job for a less amount of songs, for slightly cheaper. Which is all some people need. In your case, 4gb is most likely the go.

Ask for the 4GB Nano and pay for half of it.

I most definitely know how you feel. All I want for X-mas is an iPod video, and I'm pitchin' in $100+. I feel bad when I have such an exspensive peice of equipment, when we have trouble paying utilities, morgage on time.

ugh, i know that feeling. one of the things i don't like about Christmas is my parents feeling bad if they don't have stuff for me.
i haven't asked for an iPod for Christmas (ever) because i know my mom would drain herself in order to get me one. i'd rather her put her money towards the mortgage because that's more important than buying me anything. right now, it appears she will have paid off her 20yr mortgage is about 8yrs. that makes me happier than her buying me material stuff-n-things.
