Hi!

I'm considering buying an iPod (not sure which model yet), and I have a simple question. Unfortunately, the manual that is downloadable on the apple's support site is all but useless, so I'm posting a question here....

Basically, I'm wondering if I can get an alarm go off while I'm listening to the music. Also, what's used for the alarm sound? Does iPod have its own speaker, or will I hear the beep or something in the headphones?

On a related subject, is there a full manual that I can d/load?

Thanx,
GK

The alarm does go off if you have music playing.
If you choose the beep option, the iPod itself will beep, so you do not need the headphones to hear it.

I like the alarm function... Much better to wake up to your favourite music than the horrible ringtone of my cellphone, but i think it could be improved alot.

A few things i'd like to see in a future firmware:
- The beep is very short (1-2 secs) so it'd be nice if you could adjust length and/or how many times it should be repeated.
- Why should we just be able to pick playlist? It'd be nice if you could pick an individual track that would be repeted.
- The ability to flash the backlight when an alarm goes off (with otion to overrule the current backlight settings).
