First of all thanks to everyone for who posts on (and manages) this site. Your input allows the site to be an incredible repository of information from different viewpoints and the interaction is (usually) quite respectful.

I just received both the Flipstand and the Vaja cases. Here are my first impressions.

Flipstand-Great protection and display case for the iPod. I can throw it my purse (with my keys, pens, etc.) take it to the beach and not worry about it. My little paw prints are not all over the iPod (showed the iPod to a friend..first thing he did was wipe the back off). I don't even mind not been able to get to the hold switch as I have the remote. I don't like the amount off effort it takes to get the control keys to respond. The holes are too small and deep. Thats a big drawback...also, I have not found away to remove the headphones w/o tugging. Don't like doing that..I already pulled pulled the insulation of the firewire cable moving it between the firewire card and the ppwer adapter. Overall it meets my need for protection.

Vaja-Very stylish. The case feels quite solid..keys are a breeze to operate...everything is easily accessed. Probabably would not throw this in my pocketbook or carry to the beach as the wheel is uncovered. My order was processed and delivered in record time.

Cases came just in time too...I already dropped the iPod once on a carpeted floor and slid down the subway steps on my rear end (that one was funny..the iPod was in my pocketbook and I could hear it skipping ..all I could think was... OMG..MY IPOD!!!) The Apple case held up well both times.
