okay now i think i have isolated the problem..(hopefully)..when i run the updater (1.3 updater) i receive an error:
"Updater can't install firmware on connected iPod. The iPod's hardware and the Updater firmware are not compatible."
is this because it is a mac-formatted iPod...or is there some crazy bug in the iPod...do i need to do any kind of restoring for this updater to work...is it because it is a 1.3 updater and i have a vers. 1.1 iPod....i think if i figure this out...it will end my problems..
