okay still have the mac ipod but when i run the 1.3 updater it gives me an error

"Updater can't install firmware on connected iPod. The iPod's hardware and the updater frimware are not compatible."

It might be worth first reinstalling your -existing- firmware version before trying the update.

What version of firmware do you already have on the iPod?

Shaggy: this error means you're using the wrong updater for your model iPod

If you have a 1st or 2nd Gen iPod you need to use 1.3
If you have a 3rd Gen iPod you need to use 2.1
