alpine cda-9851 & kca-420i

so i've had the interface since about march and i was using it with the cda-9831. the deck was stolen but not the interface. i just now bought the cda-9851 at best buy and had them install it. i asked if they could just plug in the interface and they told me that the plug doesnt fit with the 2005 models? soooo.... now are there newer models of the kca-420i that work with the 2005 decks? or are those best buy guys yanking my chain?

I'm not sure what BB's installers are smoking, but the 2005 head units have the same Ai-Net connector as the '04s. I am using my KCA-420i as well as a SIR-ALP1 (Sirius tuner) on a CDA-9855, both units were also used on my previous unit, CDA-9831.

yeah no kidding.

i ended up having a look for myself and successfully plugged the interface in. in the process i accidently popped out the pocket underneath and i couldnt get it back in so it was all wobbly. i decided to take it back so they could fix it. turns out i think the guy used hot glue to stablize it and didnt even plug the interface back in. so i had to do it again. ###.
